Position Summary: Responsible for all activities associated with receiving, conveying and shipping materials including but not limited to raw materials such as roll stock and other consumable materials, butt rolls, sheet loads, work in process, scrap and finished goods. Will locate and transport roll stock to the corrugators and perform other service functions to support corrugators operations. They will also load/unload semi-trucks. This is a 3rd shift position.
Job Responsibilities: • Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work
• Perform all tasks safely and follows all safety procedures without fail.
• Follow all safety and company policies and procedures including maintaining good housekeeping , reporting any issues, accident or incidents immediately; must complete online safety training each month as assigned.
• Follow all quality and operating requirements.
• Utilize Kiwi and other system to ensure information is documented and instructions and line-ups are followed.
• Ensure butt rolls are utilized and first up for an order.
• Locate stock for production orders and customer shipments.
• Organize and maintain butt roll inventory roll stock inventory, work in process inventory and finished goods inventory.
• Unload roll stock and other raw materials and move to proper locations.
• Scan all rolls, finished goods and work in process to proper locations.
• Complete cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Verify roll receiving documentation accurately reflects the roll stock delivery.
• Ensure any quality deviations for raw materials, work in process and finished goods are resolved and reported.
• Keeping supervisors informed of any problems and/or unusual situations.
• Maintaining work areas to plant standards of housekeeping.
• Maintaining teamwork with corrugators machine crews and other associates.
• Provide relief to crew members when directed.
• Following prescribed practices in all circumstances.
• Perform all additional duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities: • Be able to make major decisions in the following areas:
o Prioritize duties to ensure constant supply of materials is available at the equipment.
o Prioritize loading finished goods based on truck departure time requirements to meet customer dock appointments.
o Prioritize unloading raw materials to ensure production has consistent supply of materials.
o Select appropriate equipment to use for the job assigned.
o Identify quality issues that may make materials unusable or unsaleable if finished goods.
Physical Requirements: • Required regularly to sit for long periods of time, and squat while lifting occasionally.
• Requires good vision (for operating PITs, using traffic mirrors and stop signs).
• Required continuous mental and visual attention (to keep product moving in the supply chain while maintaining accurate inventory transactions involving diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity).
